The ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground has doubled the size of its service facilities. The new unit, presented at a press conference on Friday, includes assembly halls, garages and offices.

The new workshops of the test center were built in accordance with the highest expectations.

According to Prof. Dr. László Palkovics, CEO of the Automotive Proving Ground Zala, the construction of the workshops was necessary due to the growing customer base.

The premises were designed to be 30 percent larger than before in accordance with the needs of customers and the construction of the building cost HUF 800 million.

With an additional investment of 500 million forints, and due to the increasing demand for ZalaZONE the equipment park for testing driver assistance systems was also developed.

Zoltán Hamar, CEO of AVL-ZalaZONE Ltd. recalled that the technical building was built in 2018, with workshops and offices for passenger cars and trucks. Its first expansion took place in 2021, where the employees’ offices and track management were located. With the current 1,400 square meter expansion, the workshop capacity was doubled.

MP László Vigh also announced the handover of the more than 90 percent completed high-speed oval track module in May.

With the new track module, the 3rd stage of the construction of the automotive proving ground will be completed, and the world-unique combination of ZalaZONE’s service portfolio of both classic dynamic vehicle tests and new technologies will be realized.
