Before the Christmas holidays, ZalaZONE InnoTech held a special event to draw attention to the new challenges of urban traffic and the importance of visibility.
An event entitled “The Visible Future – For Safe Scooter Riding” was held at the ZalaZONE Automotive Test Track, the aim of which was to promote the safe transport of electric scooters, highlight the importance of visibility and thus focus on road safety.
At the opening of the event, Prof. Dr. László Palkovics, Managing Director of Autóipari Probapálya Zala Kft. emphasized that the popularity of scooters is increasing rapidly, but at the same time regulations for their safe use and the development of transport culture are essential. Electric scooters can reach a speed of 45 kilometers per hour. Therefore, it is important that the driver is equipped with tools for safe transport. Helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, gloves and a reflective vest – although KRESZ does not yet require them – are all necessary because they move quickly, but at the same time their lighting is not sufficient.
As part of the event, President Csaba Kövesi donated 500 reflective vests to institutions, organizations and scooter rental companies in Zalaegerszeg on behalf of the Zalalövő-based company Áldott Kereszt Egyesület.
Csaba Kövesi emphasized in his speech that the Advent season is particularly suitable for supporting the community with gifts that put safety first. He added that reflective vests are not only important for scooter riders, but also contribute to improving traffic culture as a whole.
The reflective vests were presented to the Tourinform office in Zalaegerszeg, the Zala Special Ambulances, the Rendért Zalai Public Safety and Civil Guard Association, the Rollervilág and RollerRent stores, which meet the scooter riders at work and undertake to deliver the vests to the scooter riders.
The event was also attended by the Head of the Traffic Police of the Zala County Police Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel András Anti. In his welcoming speech, he stressed that it is extremely important for scooter riders to wear appropriate protective equipment such as helmets, knee pads and reflective vests, as they are among the most vulnerable road users.
After greetings and donations, the program continued with a scooter and BMX demonstration, as well as a twilight demonstration, which highlighted the practical importance of visibility.
