2022.03.26.

The ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground was ceremonially handed over in the presence of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, UN Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt and Minister of Innovation and Technology László Palkovics, on March 26.

The foundation stone of the 260-hectare test track on the border of Zalaegerszeg town was laid in May 2017, and the inauguration of the first phase took place in May 2019. In recent years, additional track elements have been developed and existing modules have been expanded. The ADAS test surface, the Smart City Zone facades, the Low-speed handling course, the Noise measurement surface, and Slopes have been completed in Phase 2.

The ZalaZONE test track is a unique R&D infrastructure in Europe. It not only allows the execution of conventional vehicle dynamics tests, but also the validation of autonomous vehicles as well as automated, connected, and electric vehicles.

With the new elements, the proving ground will be available to domestic and international automotive customers with 14 track modules and world-class engineering services.
