Innovation in law enforcement training – in cooperation with the Police Education and Training Center, the Rapid Response and Special Police Service, the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Police Headquarters and ZalaZONE InnoTech, an international police management meeting was organized on the proving ground from 16 to 18, 2024. Police leaders and specialists from Austria, Poland, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Romania came to the professional program to ZalaZONE.
The guests were welcomed by Mayor Zoltán Balaicz, MP László Vigh, Police Colonel Dr. István Ádám Horváth, Director of Police Education and Training Center, and the host, Lóránt Kovács Project Manager of ZalaZONE InnoTech.
During the presentation, the guests learned about the Hungarian police technical driving training system, the training system for service cars and motorcycles, drone training and elements of driver training for special delegations. They also got a glimpse into the complex training for catching criminals.
The lectures were followed by practical demonstrations, based on realistic situations.
During the event, the guests learned about the possible use of the ZalaZONE infrastructure and its capabilities in police training. The cognitive ability measurement presented by the specialists from the István Széchenyi University in Győr highlighted the significant differences that can be measured between the so-called “gentleman driver” and the professional police officer with special technical knowledge by driving a vehicle.
Sitting into the DIL simulator of the Bay Zoltán Research Institute was a great experience for the participants, as they were able to experience the limits of their cognitive and psychological resilience in a perfectly simulated driving environment.
In addition to the presentations, round table discussions were held, which provided an opportunity to strengthen and further develop the existing cooperation between the police forces of the participating countries and to exchange professional experiences.
