The newest element of the ZalaZONE test track, the 4,500-meter oval track module (high-speed oval), will soon be completed, where experts can carry out tests at speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour.
Moderated by former Formula 1 commentator Zoltán Szujó, the special construction was presented to press representatives on September 30th.

At the event, guests were learned about the history of the test site and experience driving on one of the modules. Zoltán Hamar, Managing Director of AVL-ZalaZONE Kft., highlighted the special features of the investment in his presentation.
A special machine chain is used to produce the track structure. The special machine enables the precise and even creation of steep parabolic curves with an inclination angle of 47 degrees. There are only two special machine chains in the world capable for building parabolic curves. The entire process is controlled by a computer.

The new oval track will allow various characteristics of the vehicles to be investigated, such as the aerodynamics at high speed, the performance and durability of the drive train or the functioning of the cooling system under maximum load. The track will also be suitable for testing tires and chassis, stability and handling tests, but also for testing self-driving vehicles and racing cars.
The installation is progressing 200 meters per day and is expected to be completed in the autumn. The handover of the module is planned for May 19, 2025.
