On 15th July 2022 ZalaZONE Research & Innovation hosted the 4th Trilateral Conference dedicated to the motto “The synergies of virtual testing and physical testing” on the ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground in Hungary.
It has been two years since we last met on the trilateral conference, in which experts of autonomous vehicle testing and decision-makers from Hungary-Austria-Slovenia exchange experience, share opinions and review research and development results. Despite the starting holiday season, about 100 interested professionals from 8 countries arrived to ZalaZONE to the program.
With the opening speech of Professor Dr. László Palkovics, Hungarian minister for Technology and Industry and the keynote presentation of Dr. Jost Bernasch, CEO of Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH/Graz, the agenda of this year’s conference covered a wide range of interesting items, in connection with the 5-level trilateral CCAM cooperation between the three countries and related to the activities of the ZalaZONE Proving Ground.
12 invited speakers from 3 countries shared their views in cooperation fields like Trilateral research and development programmes, Cross country legislation and Public Road testing and operation of ADSs, about the new UNR 157 ALKS regulation as well as the Future ingredients and perspectives of automated mobility.
In the afternoon organized round table discussion, participants examined the chance of expanding the cooperation into a multilateral collaboration, involving new countries like Poland, Slovakia, and Croatia.
The conference ended with a professional guided site tour through the new proving ground elements, where participants could see demonstrations, performed by the ZalaZONE R&I division and BME Automated Drive Lab.
