2025.06.20.

Széchenyi István University’s Zalaegerszeg Innovation Park successfully hosted the “Future of Vehicles: Innovation, Engineering, and Economic Conference (FoV 2025)” in Zalaegerszeg.

The two-day event served as a professional forum to discuss automotive innovations, mobility technologies, and their engineering, economic, and social impacts. It brought together representatives from science and industry to present the latest developments.

The prestige and significance of the conference were highlighted by the participation of researchers, industry players, and esteemed plenary speakers from both Hungary and abroad. Zoltán Balaicz, Mayor of Zalaegerszeg, and László Palkovics, Government Commissioner, also welcomed the approximately 100 participants from nearly 10 countries.

Government Commissioner László Palkovics emphasized Hungary’s strength in automotive research and development (R&D), highlighting that, as a percentage of GDP, Hungary spends more on this area than neighboring countries. He attributed this to the robust ecosystem created in Hungary, which includes academic institutions like the Széchenyi István University. László Vigh, Member of Parliament, drew attention to the importance and development of driver-assistance systems, stressing the goal of building safer vehicles.

The scientific presentations focused on the latest results in automotive and mobility research, with a particular emphasis on innovation, digitalization, and sustainability.

According to application engineer Bence Nagy, the automotive industry is undergoing a huge change, and the goal of the conference is to bring together the best of the profession to manage this change.

The scientific papers presented at the conference will also be published in prestigious journals, thus encouraging knowledge sharing and cooperation.

This event strengthened the position of Zalaegerszeg and ZalaZONE on the map of global automotive innovation, promoting synergies between scientific and industry experts in shaping the future of mobility.
