In August, the ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground hosted an exclusive event for representatives of the automotive press. They had the unique opportunity to participate in a special driver training session with powerful Mercedes-AMG vehicles, organized by the Hungarian Mercedes importer.

Where the Laws of Physics Take Over
The highlight of the event was the 4,450-meter-long, four-lane high-speed oval module, where vehicles can be tested at speeds of up to 270 km/h. The track’s unique feature is its combination of parabolic curves and straights, which pushes vehicles to their dynamic limits.
The top lane, with its 47-degree incline, presented a true challenge, even for professional drivers. Participants experienced firsthand how the car behaves differently in banked turns than on flat roads. Due to the strong lateral acceleration, steering is barely necessary in the banked corners, as the vehicle is guided almost entirely by the laws of physics.
An Unforgettable Driving Experience
The applied forces in the corners press the cars to the asphalt, making every movement crucial for stability. The drivers had to grip the steering wheel tightly. According to the participants, this unique experience was both inspiring and impressive. The training provided an opportunity to test stability, handling, and various vehicle functions under extreme conditions.

The ZalaZONE High-speed oval is the perfect location not only for automotive developers but also for car enthusiasts looking to improve their driving skills. The continuous development of the track and ongoing testing contribute to making the cars of the future even safer and more dynamic, providing drivers with an unforgettable experience.
