Police driver training at the proving ground

2025.02.28.

On February 28, the driving technique training of Zalaegerszeg police officers was presented to the press. Thanks to Autóipari Próbapálya Zala Kft and ZalaZONE InnoTech Nonprofit Kft, police officers from Zalaegerszeg can take part in driving technique training on the test track until the end of March, where they can acquire safe driving routine with the help of competent instructors.

The Zalaegerszeg Police recently acquired a BMW iX3 vehicle, which will soon be used to maintain public order and security. The car has an output of 210 kW, a maximum torque of 400 Nm and accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. With a ten-minute quick charge, it can be charged with enough energy for 100 kilometers.

The police officers must attend training courses to learn about the high-performance car and use it in their work. The performance of the vehicle was tested in the presence of the press on the high-speed handling course, by police officers practicing acceleration, braking and slalom driving.

As part of the simulation exercise, Flashbots, i.e. self-driving electric car charging robots, rolled to the BMW. The intelligent solution developed by IonDynamics was first presented at ZalaZONE in the spring of 2024 as part of the GreenTech conference. The innovative development allows vehicles in need of charging to receive energy in a dedicated area of the test track with the help of autonomously navigating charging robots. The operation of the charging robots, named Ava and Bekka, was demonstrated by Dr. Virág Mészáros, ZalaZONE InnoTech’s Energy Project Manager. The introduction of Flashbots is a milestone in the development of intelligent, sustainable mobility and another example of ZalaZONE being at the forefront of future transportation solutions.
